Was up until passed 2am over the election. Trump pulled a “W”.

I turned off the radio before Trump’s victory speech. Apparently, Trump said in his speech he would be president to everyone, was offering everyone a chance to get on board now. I’m detecting an NYC-style “…or else” in there.

Comparisons between our “Pax Americana” and the long-fallen Roman Empire come in and out of fashion.

My $0.02: by voting for John Kasich during the primary, then for Hillary and down-ballot Republican in the general, i guess i was hoping for a details-minded, nose-to-the-grindstone Claudius to continue to guide us through some turbulent times that require hard work, revitalization of integral infrastructure, and open-minded innovation and experimentation, all under fiscal diligence.

I’m very worried — based on everything Trump said during his campaign, things said they may now have the weight of policy — that we’ve ended up with a Nero or Caligula.

EDIT: Sidebar: Ever since last Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, I’ve had that some “We’re On Easy Street” song stuck in my head.

That finally changed this morning while listening to more news as i drove in the rain to work. Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, “The Sky is Crying” is looping through my head. Better, in a bittersweet way.
