Money/currency systems are tools, a way measuring “value”, and a tool to manage resources.
UBI: I can’t wrap my head around it.
Individual human beings require at minimum ‘energy’ (nourishing foodstuffs, drinkable water) and ‘security’ (protection from the elements, like clothing and shelter).
It’s to the individual’s advantage in survival terms to pool resources with other human beings. Need for ‘pecking order’ arises. Hierarchy is inevitable, as is inequity.
UBI: tries to sidestep this? Puts ‘value’ of any individual’s productive contributions to the larger civilization in jeopardy, but attempts to correct the inefficiency of inequity?? I don’t know.
